Many years of basic research on the influence of cryopreservation factors resulted in developing modern technologies for cell and tissue conservation. Owing to these technologies, there was created one of the largest law-temperature banks in Ukraine. Today our bank has samples of embryonic and adult cells as well as tissues that can be used for research purposes or clinical application. In 2002 the senior research officer of Embryotech Medical Center, Irina Votyakova, as well as joint authors were awarded a National prize in the field of science and technology for the series of works on the subject of "Development of new biotechnologies for getting cell and tissue allotransplants".
Our priority research areas are:
- Study of mechanisms of cryoinjury and cryoprotection of cells and tissues
- Developing and improving of modern technologies of obtaining, separation and cryopreservation of stem cells and specialized cells
- Study of cell behavior in systems in vitro under the influence of various cytokines and growth factors
- Study of intercellular regulator interactions during hematopoiesis mediated by cytokines production
- Study of post-transcriptional events in the experimental models after influence of allo- and xenografts of polypotent precursor cells
- Development of methodology of individual application of cell transplants for stepwise correction of homeostasis disorders
- Estimation of cell transplant engraftment in a recipient
Embryotech is open for collaboration and mutual research works.
